Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit websites. They help the site remember your preferences and improve the functioning of the service.
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies: pixels, local storage (localStorage) and session identifiers.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Required Cookies (Always Active)
Provide basic functionality of the site. Without them, the Platform cannot operate correctly. These cookies cannot be disabled.

|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent | Draft2Live | Stores your cookie choice | 6 months |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Draft2Live | Interface language | 1 year |
| draft2live-theme | Draft2Live | Light or dark theme | 1 year |
| draft2live_onboarding_completed | Draft2Live | Remembers that you finished the intro tour | 1 year |

| usprivacy | Draft2Live | US opt-out signal published to advertising partners | 6 months |
Analytics Cookies (Require Consent)
Help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform, enabling us to improve its operation and usability.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 13 months | |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — session and campaign state | 13 months |
Marketing Cookies (Require Consent)
A single first-party cookie that records how you first reached us - the referring site and any campaign tags in the link - so we can tell which channels actually work. It is written once, never updated, and never shared with an advertising network.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| d2l_attr | Draft2Live | First-touch acquisition source: referrer, landing page, utm_* / gclid / fbclid tags | 30 days |
Third-Party Embeds
Articles may contain videos or maps from other companies (for example YouTube). They are not loaded until you allow marketing cookies: until then you see a placeholder with a button that allows exactly that one category.
That is the complete list. We do not run a Meta pixel, a Google Ads tag, a LinkedIn Insight Tag or any other third-party advertising or tracking script on this site.
3. Legal Basis
In accordance with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the GDPR:
- Required cookies are set without consent, as they are necessary for the functioning of the Platform (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
- Analytics and marketing cookies are set only after obtaining your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
4. Managing Cookies
4.1. Consent Banner
On your first visit a banner asks which cookies we may use. Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting — both are one click on the banner itself, and nothing non-essential is loaded before you answer.
Your choice is stored for 6 months in a first-party cookie and, if you are signed in, on your account, so you are not asked again on every device. The settings dialog shows a reference for your choice — quote it if you ask us what you agreed to.
We also keep a record of every decision: the reference, the categories, the time, and a one-way hash of your IP address — never the address itself. It exists so that we can demonstrate consent was given or refused, as the GDPR requires.
4.2. Browser Settings
You may configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking required cookies may affect the operation of the Platform.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
- Edge: Settings → Privacy → Cookies
4.3. Opting Out of Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics, you may install the official browser extension: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
If you are in the United States, the banner instead gives notice and offers a Do not sell or share my personal information choice, which is also in the footer of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we apply it without asking.
5. Data Transfer
Some cookies are set by third-party services whose servers are located outside the EEA. In such cases, we ensure an adequate level of data protection in accordance with the GDPR (see Privacy Policy, section 6 for details).
6. Amendments to the Policy
Cookie lifetimes do not exceed 13 months, in line with EDPB recommendations. Upon expiry, your consent will be requested again.
We may update this Cookie Policy in the event of changes to the types or purposes of cookies used. We shall notify you of material changes via the consent banner or the Platform interface.
